Meditation is one such practice which is being preached in every sphere of life, be it corporate or spiritual. But the basic question many ask is ‘What is meditation?’
What is Meditation?
Meditation is a process which, when practiced in steps or stages over a period of time, leads you to a higher level of consciousness which imparts serenity, clarity and happiness. Meditation when performed in a congenial atmosphere can alleviate stress, sadness and feeling of loss.
How to Meditate?
Sit in a comfortable position keeping your back straight and eyes closed. Take few deep breaths and focus your attention towards your breathing. Try to feel the sensation of air flowing in and leaving the nostrils, this should be your only focus, as the sensation felt is the objective of meditation. Start with 10 minutes each day, and eventually increase the duration and the intensity with time. When practicing this, your mind will run a thousand places, don’t feel upset about it. As soon as you realize it, bring your focus back to your breathing and try to keep it there only.
