9 Ways to Improve Eyesight
Your eyesight is a treasured sense that’s been blessed upon you by God. But most of the time, it becomes a taken for granted possession. What you sometimes don’t realize is what would you do without them? What would the world be to you without your sight? Nothing. Just a dark abyss. With the incidence of cataract, age-related macular degeneration and blindness increasing by the day, it’s become essentially important for you to take care of your eyes. Here are the simple and easy ways to take care of your eyes and in the process improve eyesight too.
1. Consume plenty of fruits
Fruits are upto the brim with antioxidants. Blueberries are the richest source of antioxidants. So have lots of blueberries for breakfast, starting today! Fruits such as acerolas, dried apricots, bilberries, cantaloupe, guavas, kiwis, lemons, grapes and apples help in improving your eyesight as well as keep you away from age related macular degeneration.
2. Have green leafy vegetables
Two antioxidants, namely lutein and zeaxanthin, are beneficial for your eyes and green leafy vegetables have an abundance of these. So binge on veggies like kale, spinach, cabbage, broccoli and lettuce to reduce the risk of age related macular degeneration and cataract.
3. Increase your vitamin intake
Vitamins A and C play a major role in improving your eyesight and preventing eye diseases and blindness as well. Thus, get your daily dose of these vitamins from a healthy diet or take a multivitamin every day.
4. Point the car vents away from your eyes
Air-conditioned air can cause corneal abrasions and blindness too, if left unattended. So keep the car vents pointed at your feet rather than at your eyes. The dry AC air sucks the moisture out of the eyes and dry eyes can cause the above mentioned eye problems.
5. Reposition the computer to below eye level
By doing this, you are averting your eyes from becoming completely dry by allowing moisture to be retained. This will reduce the strain of your eyes too.
