7 Ways to Strengthen Relationships Within Your Family
5. Hand down clothes, borrow or share things with family members
Get grown siblings in your family to hand down used clothes to younger siblings or borrow books from an aunt who may be a voracious reader. You can also share cooking tips with your teen niece or borrow gardening tools from your grandparents. Sharing stuff increases interaction and creates a sense of family bonding.
6. Don’t miss important days like birthdays, anniversaries or memorials
If you have been out of touch with a few family members, important days like birthdays and anniversaries can be neutral grounds to reconnect on, without feeling awkward. Don’t forget to call your family members on their birthdays or anniversaries. Calls of sympathy or concern when someone falls sick are also a nice way to show your family that you care.
7. Volunteer or take part in community services together
Families can connect on a spiritual level by being involved in social work and community services together. Very lucky few are blessed with caring loved ones and by collectively experiencing the joy of charity, you may be able to better appreciate what you have as a family.
